What’s the best way to find new authors? Friends of course! That is how I came about Mia Monroe. I don’t want to say I’m not a fan of MM, that’s not the right words…It’s not my preferred genre, I guess is better. I don’t go seeking them, if you know what I mean. I’ve read MMF before but never MM so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Well I’m glad I took my friends advice because I would of missed out on two fantastic books!
Mia Monroe just released book 2 in her Love in the City series and was kind enough to let me feature her in an Author Spotlight!
Learn a little about Mia but then keep scrolling for my review on her newest release Damage!
How long have you been writing?
Years honestly. Probably most of my life. Writing in MM, probably just a year or so.
Can you share a little about your writing process? Are you a plotter/outliner, write chapter but chapter, etc?
I have a general idea of plot before I start writing, and usually have some scenes in my head. I’ll get those down first and then build the novel around them.
Now get ready for the speed round!
Ebook or Paperback?
I like both. I like shopping for an owning physical books, but it is easier sometimes to read an ebook. Bonus points no one can see what I’m reading.
Beer or Wine?
Wine but I prefer hard liquor
Travel Channel or Hallmark Channel?
Travel channel all the way
Hot or Cold?
Depends on what we’re talking about. Weather- hot. Coffee- both. Ice cream- definitely cold. 😉
Mr. Darcy or Mr. Grey?
Mr. Grey for his, um…appetite.
French Toast or French Kiss?
Pop Music or Rock Music?
I like almost all music, but probably lean pop.
Early Bird or Night Owl?
Slow burn or Insta love?
Both are good when done well.
Milk Chocolate or Dark Chocolate?
Nevertheless, she persisted.
Everyone deserves a second chance. Even someone like me.
I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life.
I would travel the world, share what I knew, and write my stories. Everything I did was designed to bring me closer to that goal. So when a dream opportunity landed in my lap, I had to take it, no matter who I had to leave behind in the process.
Three years have passed since I made that decision, and I quickly learned reality doesn’t always match up with vision. Home is exactly where I need to be, but when I see the man I pushed aside to follow my chosen path, the true cost of my decision hits me like a ton of bricks. I don’t deserve it, but I’ll do anything to get him back.
All I want is a second chance at the future we should have had, but first I have to fix what I left behind… damage.

Oh man did this one have me hooked! I loved Mia Monroe’s first release Deviate but I have to say I might love Damage a bit more! Or maybe it was just what I needed in that time of my life. You know the feeling when no book is holding your attention or you just can’t get into a book. Well Damage pulled me out of that slump!
Damage is a fast paced slow burn (is that a thing? I just made it a thing). Seppe in doing what he thought was right, moved away to follow his dream and in the process left a shattered Nolan. As time passes Seppe realizes his mistakes and with a move back home he is hoping he can wrong his rights. Nolan on the other hand is not going to make it that an easy task.
The sexual tension between Nolan and Seppe bleeds off every page making it too irresistible to put down. The conflict, the characters, even the chaos that ensues is written to perfection.
Whether you are new to MM or a veteran Damage is a love story you don’t want to pass up! 5 out of 5 roses!
About the author:
Mia has long been an avid romance reader and writer. As someone who identifies as part of the LGBTQ community, Mia feels a special connection to these sometimes complicated stories. Once she read her first MM romance, she was hooked, and now wants to bring those stories to you. She’s a hopeless romantic so she guarantees a happy ever after in all her stories, but she does not guarantee they will be without complications.
Mia describes her writing style as angsty, emotional, and kinky and just lets her imagination take her where it wants to go. No filters, no restraint, no apologies. She hopes you enjoy the ride and come back for more.
People will tell you Mia is funny in the most sarcastic of ways, fluent in inappropriate memes, loosely moral’d, a lover of words, and fueled by coffee and tacos- but not at the same time. She has some standards. Send her a friend request!
